WP Dashboard Widget API

WordPress is a highly extensible CMS, however utilizing some of its features can sometimes be a real chore and untidy code. Taking a cue from the sidebar widgets API, I developed an API to more easily create dashboard widgets. After installing the plugin, just write a class with a ‘widget’ method and optionally a ‘form’ method (to handle widget configuration), then call the register function on your classname.

I’ve built three sites for the community of Harmony, Fl.

I developed a pair of sites showcasing two product lines from the same company. Nothing too extraordinary about the sites, but they were a pair of refreshing designs that were a nice break from the typical corporate look I’ve been working with lately.

I was pleased to turn this interactive marketing agency’s static HTML site into a flexible, and scalable WordPress theme. In addition to building this site on a CMS (yes, I just called WP a CMS), this project afforded me the opportunity to create the MailChimp Archives plugin.

Was pleased to work with interactive marketing agency, Cloudburst Consulting, on this project. This was a redesign for this well-established rental company, inspired by a micro-site they had built for their UK clientele. Converting this design from a 5-page micro-site to a ~20 page primary site was a task that required some cleverness, but the result was very satisfying.

MailChimp has a solid API but a lack of WP plugins utilizing it. This plugin fetches your campaign archives and either creates them as posts in your WP database, or just displays them live by fetching them from MailChimp upon request.

Redesign for an established call-center and marketing corporation. Their previous site (shown below) was a very dull, static experience which did not adequately describe the company’s purpose or practices, nor did it allow the user to interact with it in any way. This new site, built on using WordPress as a CMS, allows for new content such as real time job postings (with links to online applications), news, and promotional videos touting the experience and capabilities of the company.

Comprehensive website and branding for a window tinting company in south-west Florida.

The stand-apart feature to this development was the custom JavaScript tint selector I built from scratch. Simply hover over the table cells to gradually increase the darkness of the window tint.
